Some Thoughts About Wine in the 305

Wine culture in Miami is slowly becoming more and more robust. Every year you see more large events centered around wine. James Suckling does a few events here. The Food & Wine Fest has been a resounding success. Of course, the pandemic has slowed things down, so the purpose of this page is not to highlight events, but rather some of the better shops to purchase wine in Miami. Once life returns to normal I'll begin by updating with fun events and things to do in the world of wine here in the 305. For now, though, let's talk my favorite wine shops!

El Carajo

Yes, it's a gas station. Yes, it's a tapas restaurant. Yes, it's a cafe. Yes, it's a convenience store. Yes, it's a wine shop. This incredibly versatile "store" is renown in Miami for having the best selection of classic wines and at prices you just can't beat. Seriously, everything here is between 5-25% off normal retail prices. I have never seen anything lower. Oh, and their Cortadito is killer.

Wolfe's Wine Shoppe

The selection at Wolfe's leans more towards unique and hard to find than at El Carajo. Looking for an interesting natural wine? Wolfe's has got you covered. What about a value sparkler? Try a Pet Nat! This isn't to say that they don't carry the classics - they do - but they are also on the cutting edge of the wine world. Oh, and the dogs hanging out there are pretty cute too.
